I am a photographer and photo educator. My years of working in the studio as an advertising /still life photographer fine-tuned my eye for light, color, and design, and I bring that experience to my work outside of the studio. Whether shooting buildings or gardens, main streets or country roads, those elements play a part in helping to capture the character of the place.

Shortly after graduating from New England School of Photography. I was hired by Lechmere, a retail chain store, to do advertising photography, and eventually to help build and supervise a large catalog studio. After 15 years at Lechmere I opened my own studio, catering to the advertising needs of other major New England retailers, like Bradlees and Staples.

Color and light still inspire my work, and so do the places I explore. I enjoy exploring and photographing the coast of New England with a special emphasis on Mount Desert Island, Maine, home to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. It is also my part time home.. From a morning walk on Main Street to an afternoon at the waters edge, I strive to capture the grandeur of the landscapes and the nuances of everyday scenes. Through my images, I invite the viewer to share the experience of the place.

My fine art work has been exhibited widely and is in many private collections. I was represented by Redfield Artisans Gallery in Northeast Harbor, Maine, for 15 years. And my work can also be seen in a variety of group exhibits. I currently split my time between Maine and Massachusetts where I share my passion for photography with my students. I was Director of Digital Imaging at New England School of Photography, have taught for Maine Media Workshops and I am currently offering workshops online through The Griffin Museum of Photography.
